An Older Sister's Lesson

A long time ago, in the period of our forerunners. In the ancient city of Rome. The civilization was thriving, and the Great Colosseum was under construction. Between all this uproar, a boy seemed to have learned a lesson through the words of his older sister. Hortus, named after the great demigod Hercules, was fair, his jet black hair danced in the wind on his head, and at the age of 8. He never worked too hard at anything. He used to think spending all that time on one task was a waste.

Hortus' father had named him and his sister after different godly legends. The name of his sister was Selene. She got the name of the moon titan because of her grey eyes and blonde hair, which looked like the moon in the twilight sky. Selene, who looked just like their mother, was tan and wise. She used to spend time on her work and complete it with quintessence.

Selene took her little brother for a walk one day, but this was to be more than just a walk. She took Hortus to the construction site of the Colosseum. She showed the place to him. She said, "Isn't it exquisite?" Hortus was perplexed at his sister's statement. He asked, "What's exquisite?"

Seeing that her plan was working flawlessly, Selene responded, "Close your eyes and picture what a gorgeous place this will be when it's finished! Soon we'll get to her history in its full form," Hortus was still confused. Selene explained, "Look, all great works take time," she said, "Look at our city -  there is still more to add before it can become a legend. I notice how you work. You don't put in the time. Even the Gods had to grow up to kill Kronos, and you will have to wait to get what you want. I hope that you'll think about it." Hortus understood what his sister meant and took the advice. He put in the time in activities and realized Selene had been right all along.
